Nadine is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She has been in private practice more than 15 years providing  counselling to individuals and couples. Her style is warm, down-to-earth, with a sprinkling of humour. She is dedicated to helping her clients discover the tools to move them toward a more authentic and wholehearted life. She is passionate about improving her therapeutic skills and participates in annual professional development opportunities. Clients will explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness and examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that hold them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way they live, love, parent, and lead. Nadine also uses the theories of John Gottman and Sue Johnson for couple’s therapy since they provide practical, research-based tools to strengthen and repair marriages and relationships

Nadine's Practice

Column

Based on the belief in the inherent value and dignity of human beings and that all persons have a right to have their innate worth appreciated (Canadian Code of Ethics). Counselling is a relationship built on trust.

Column

Trust develops over time when clients feel accepted, supported and heard. Nadine’s style is warm, down-to-earth, and practical, with a sprinkling of humour. The therapeutic relationship is one of equals where the therapist understands and treats psychological problems and the client is the “expert” on their particular problem.

Column

Therapy isn't a cure and it won’t make life perfect. Therapy is about coming to terms with reality. Therapy can increase self-esteem, unravel emotional dilemmas, and help clients find the courage to face the world again after loss. The goal of therapy is to help the client to develop new coping skills so they are able to see solutions to their difficulties, consider different ways of seeing their problem, and experience, express, and change difficult emotions.
